Nature vs Industry

The title for my themed project this semester is “Art VS. Industry”. I consciously decided not to title my prints for this project because I didn’t want to give the viewer an idea of what they were seeing. With this topic I believe there are so many ways to see one image, and I believe that titling these would only allow you to see one. For example the leaves and the fence. This can be seen as the leaves growing through and not caring what might be in its way, or it could be seen as the fence is holding it back and not allowing it to grow.

The foundation of our world is being altered, destroyed, but most importantly forgotten. With this themed project I wanted to show how we have been so involved in our “man-made” things that we forget the beauty that can come from the natures of our world. Nature and Industrial can simply come down to our world then and now. The biggest influence on this matter is time. Our friend and enemy at the same time. My goal for this project is to not only show what we are doing to our world by suppressing and constricting its natural tendencies, but also that in the end nature always seems to win. Even in the little things.
